Lamar Staton on AIDS Awareness:
"My biggest concern and issue with the "ignorance" on issues surrounding HIV and AIDS is IGNORANCE itself and the way that many choose to go about life in response to those with the disease and sometimes in having it themselves. I think that if people were more up-to-date on the facts and statistics of the disease then there would be much more of an attempt to assist those in basic every day need of our help in society rather than a shunning and down-looking upon the infected. And in the same token many don't realize, well more than usually rather, don't acknowledge that it could most easily happen to anybody and when it does it's sad that many don't take the proper precautions in keeping themselves safe as well as their partners. The ugly lie and misunderstanding that "well, I already have aids or hiv so why bother being safe" is a disease even more deadly than the virus itself because many do not realize that they open themselves up to so much more unnecessary illness in thinking that way. I believe that in teaching people to love an care for themselves is the only way to teach them to care for another. You can't possibly know the way to nurture an care for another if you have no idea whatsoever how to do so for yourself. So with that, I know it was a bit vague and general but I strongly believe that saving people from the lack of educating on important facts surrounding HIV and AIDS is a way to save lives. Be well and best wishes with everything!"
Dante Sheppard on AIDS Awareness:
"It is important to educate our world of HIV/AIDS because I feel as though that is the way we can grab it by its throat and defeat it. It all comes down to knowledge. The disturbing statistic is that 25% of people who have HIV/AIDS, don't know they have it. It is important for everyone to get tested and know for a fact if they are infected or not. When ignorance is eliminated, so will the spread"

Evan Storey on AIDS Awareness:
"AIDS is a horrible, scary, deadly being! But with a keen knowledge of both the disease itself and how to prevent it, it no longer becomes scary or horrible but becomes manageable and avoidable. If everyone acts as a unit to destroy the spreading of AIDS we could ban this topic from our thoughts, but in the meantime I think we need to have a constant red flag waving in your heads and a condom in our pocket."
Dwight Allen Oneal on AIDS Awareness:
"It takes a whole street to come together to spread a message of self- love! With Christopher Street Tv we are coming together to show others that through loving our-self we can love one another and by doing this we are assisting in HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness. So many people have made the mistake of just throwing a condom in someones face and demanding them to use it... I have learned that scare tactics don't work, we are now educating modern day hippies who believe in fun, fashion, and entertainment... we have to reach them through a different outreach. So lets get motivated and stand up and travel the world by educating our people to love themselves so they will know how to love and care for others. When this happens you will see a change in sexual behavior, violence, homophobia, and other problems. Because if I love myself, I will not harm myself :-)"
Elayne Rivers on AIDS Awareness:
"It is extremely important to educate the world on HIV/AIDS because it affects us all. This epidemic is extremely unfortunate because a large portion of our newer cases in America could be avoided if people were not so ignorant. Protection is key and way to many people are playing with their lives and the lives of others when they do not use protection. In other countries, especially Third World Countries as the disease spreads in rapid proportions our country feels the need to take on the responsibility to help raise awareness, to help with medical treatments, etc., etc. While I think it is great that they do that because someone must help, they are taking money from our country that could be used here on our own soil and aid in bettering our communities, schools, economy, etc. That hurts us the most. As we all attempt to stay afloat during this recession and our children struggle to get an education to be able to compete in the "real world" they do this without adequate amounts of textbooks, overcrowded classrooms, hunger pains, or anger issues due to their outside life being heavily affected by their parents economic despair. One person taking the responsibility to use protection will not only keep them alive, but also save the lives of many."
