"I make all of my models feel comfortable by focusing on who they are and not on a photo shoot or assignment. It is my objective to find their true personality and in doing this the model does what he or she does best and that is talk about themselves. It makes it easier for them and me. I consistently praise them and encourage them to be their self and not to be afraid to push the envelope."
"My source of inspiration is everything around me and any life situation. I love photography because it captures a moment that can never be repeated or relived. That moment brings inspiration."
"When I first started to do nude photography, the first experience was awkward. I know what I want to accomplish and I am very comfortable with nudity since I am a nudist but to get that connection from the individual to perform nude was interesting. When a model is aware of their nudity it becomes awkward and funny and the first time I did it, I was awkward. There were many embarrassing moments and we laughed and laughed but finally got some beautiful shots."

"If I look at the shot over and over again, and it makes me feel something inside, and I get that emotional response consistently, then that is the final cut."
"My style is really to capture the true essence of the model that brings life to whatever that moment is selling (clothing, watches, body, etc.) I am about making a connection with the person that brings a sense of reality to the final product. My end product varies so my process is my style. My process is to have fun and to make a connection."

"My advice for new models is to accept constructive criticism from people who are NOT their biggest fans (mothers, fathers, lovers, etc.). Study the craft, commit to the craft and work hard but through all of it have fun. Also, learn how to deliver emotions with their eyes, face and body language. Make sure they are capable of creating an image not just trying to look good for a picture. The blank stare is not modeling."

"Regardless of who the models are, it is who they are that will bring the most passion to the photo. When I am shooting for a client, I have less time to figure this out but I still want to bring a part of the person into the photo because it will help make the scene real. Reality in the moment is what makes the connection with the rest of the world."

"Rejection to me is necessary because it helps build that momentum to be successful. Rejection is a building block, without rejections how do you appreciate acceptance? Also, rejection is what maintains diversity so as artist we can all be who we are not what others wants us to be."
Model: Gye
"The lesson I've learned from my model is to be myself."
Model: Fred
"To be able to capture the essence of the moment and to have people understand that moment without words make a photographer, well...a photographer"
"My vision for the model is to always bring a sense of self to the shot; who they are everyday, not an actor at a moment. 'Who they are' is their strength, so that will make a great shot."
Curtis started photography two years ago because his best friend wants to pursue a career in modeling, "He didn't have any photos and he was submitting camera phone photos to casting calls. I knew I could do better than a camera phone and I always was interested in family photography." From a used film camera which Curtis purchased from a pawn shop, to his current digital equipment, Curtis passion for photography is a result of time. hardwork and experience. "I quickly learned the craft, I read books on lighting and began to photograph anything I could. I upgraded to digital equipment and things just took off from there." Five things he can't live without? "My son, the person I'm in love with, the ability to produce wealth, spiritual life and love." His favorites? "Soul food, finding things to shoot and read, traveling to foreign countries and experiencing their culture." By connecting with the models, Curtis takes his photography to the NEXT level producing images that brings out the model's personality, making us realize that life can truly be captured in a single shot.
Curtis would like to thank "Ronnie, Phil (True Image Photography), my mother, my brother, Michael, all of the photographers that love what they do, all of the models that enjoy doing what they do and bring passion to the art. Most of all I thank God for the ability and the resources to be able to do photography."
