For him there's more to Modeling than having a pretty face, its also mentally challenging if not demanding, "Being able to focus on the task at hand, take direction and deconstruct the desired intention of a given shoot is something I considered an asset, today's model defy the archaic stereotype of the quintessential male bimbo whose brains are in his biceps." "I would hope that photographers would see in me the same qualities I try to project in all aspects of my life: confidence, strength, and sincerity. Being a model goes beyond taking good pictures. It is an art, and the best artist are full of passion. It is important for a photographer to see your passion in your shots and in person. Above all, I hope photographers see in me a uniquely masculine look with a positive attitude and great work ethic."

"I would like to think that I'd be adaptable enough to live without anything, if I absolutely had to, but I don't think I'd be content without pen and paper, books, good tunes, drumsticks and someone to spend my time with."

"I have an affinity for tight sleeveless t-shirts and leather motorcycle jackets. Pairing them, or a fitted dress shirt, with distressed jeans, leather boots and a nice watch allows me to be casually classy with a masculine edge."

"When I used to wrestle, one technique I would implement was to envision my match before it took place, imagining what moves I'd make and how it will lead to victory. The same applies for modeling, I'll envision the shoot, and try to be as mentally prepared as possible. That way you'll already in a great working mindset before you begin. I suppose an extremist can call it a self-fulfilling prophecy but the important thing is that it gives you confidence knowing that you are prepared for the task at hand."

"Something clicked in me when I saw my pictures from Nico and Adrian Underwear campaign. I grew up reading Men's Health and Bodybuilding magazines, always drawing inspiration from physiques I admired. That motivated me to excel in athletics and take care of my body. To see myself in a position where other people may draw the same inspiration from my image is extremely rewarding."

"Use common sense, this may seem like a laughable statement but it seriously carry so much weight. Be on time, or better yet, show up early. Arriving late is a dead giveaway that you are not invested on the project and it wastes everyone's time. Don't be afraid to ask questions, if you are unsure of something, ask. It would be a real shame not to perform, to your best ability because you did not understand something. Asking questions allows you to increase your skill, set and deliver what you need to. Be grateful to your photographers, Modeling is a collaborative art, and only model, only looks as good as the photographers pictures they work with. If a photographer does a good job, say thank you and sincerely mean it."

"I personally like to use rejections to my advantage by making them an instrument for motivation. First, I'll deconstruct the situation to see what I may have done wrong, or if I can make improvements anywhere. By turning a potentially negative situation into a positive learning tool, you are continually hungry to evolve into a better model and better person. You don't waste time belittling yourself with negative self-talk, and you learn something new with each experience."

Joe recently met a very sweet Brazilian girl while enjoying a night out at a club, when Joe asked her how she liked NYC, "She said that it was better than she expected, except for the Statue of Liberty, which was smaller than she imagined. She then went on to say that the "crystal" statue in Brazil, was much better. I had no idea what she was talking about, and kept asking about this "crystal" statue, which was something out a fantasy epic, and intensified the conversation between the other Brazilians which had now gathered around me. When the music died down, I realized that she had been saying the "Christo" statue, 'Oh you mean, the Jesus', I said. She and her Brazilian clique had a good laugh at my expense! and here I was thinking that she was the one feeling the culture shock!" For Joe, rejections comes with life, "It shouldn't be necessarily regarded as a bad thing, just because you did not get a gig does not mean that you did something incorrectly. There could be an infinite reasons why you are not chosen, the key is to not take it personally." So what's fashion for Joe? "Fashion is supposed to be fun, the clothes we wear are an expression of who we are and the era we live in. Having a good fashion sense helps keep you youngand engaged with the world around you." His most funny moment while on a date? "At a classy restaurant on Valentines Day, my date intended to order the "Sesame" encrusted tuna for dinner, instead she blurted out "I'll have the 'Semen' encrusted tuna" Laughing, I replied, "That's for desert my dear, not the main course." Joe shares an amusing experience on his recent fashion show, "There's a law which states that clothing needs to cover only a certain percentage of your body in establishments within 500 yards of a church. So in that fashion show, with our swimwear, we obviously cannot cover the specified percentage of clothing, to meet the regulations we borrowed aprons from the kitchen staff and performed a pseudo tease, culminating as the aprons being worn as capes, it was kinda silly but the audience responded well to the spontaneity of the show!"

"When people see a good physique, they may overlook all the hours of hard work that went into shaping it, to be recognized and appreciated is very thrilling, but also humbling. I hope that I can inspire people to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. I take this very seriously, and if I could set an example, I'd be more fulfilled."
